About Cobra Single Leg Chain Sling Grade 8

These chain clings are made up form grade 8 alloy steel short link chain with an electrophoresis finish. They are safe to use in temperatures from -20 to +200 degrees C and conform to BS EN 818-2.

Supplied with a grade 8 master link and a choice of end fittings so you can choose one to best suit your lifting set up.

Cobra Chain Sling Fittings

The Cobra fittings we offer are all grade 8 to match the chain and come with a red painted finish and conform to BS EN 1677-2.

Probably the most popular fitting is the Clevis sling hook with safety catch although your choice will depend on what you need to lift and how.

Other fitting options include a Clevis self locking hook, eye grab hook, swivel self locking hook and a Clevis 'C' hook.

Each fitting comes in a range of sizes so we can match the size of your chosen fitting to your chain size selection.

Considerations

The WLL (working load limit) may change when slings are used in a hitch other than straight so always refer to the safe slinging chart for grade 8 slings.

These grade 8 alloy steel chain slings should not be used in hazardous conditions such as lifting dangerous loads (liquid metal or corrosive materials). They are also not suitable for off shore conditions.

Another thing worth noting is that if the chain pulls against sharp edges or corners it will affect the stated working load limit, if this is the case contact the supplier/manufacturer for clarification. Some temperatures may also affect the WLL, see sling chart information above.
